1. Data we collect
We collect essentially nothing. Specifically:
- No account data. There is no sign-up, login, or profile. We have nothing to associate your visits with.
- No form submissions. Calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser. They are not sent to our servers.
- No first-party analytics. We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Matomo, or any other analytics on this site. We rely on server logs (see below) for aggregate traffic counts.
- No newsletter, no email list. We have no way to email you even if we wanted to.
2. Server logs (the only thing our infrastructure sees)
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records basic server logs: your IP address (truncated to last octet in our config), the page requested, the referring URL, and a timestamp. These logs are retained for 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then deleted. They are not used to profile visitors, not joined with any other dataset, and not shared.
3. Google AdSense and third-party advertising
To keep this site free, we may display ads served by Google AdSense and other third-party advertising networks. These networks use their own cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
What AdSense does
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on a visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
What we tell AdSense
We do not share any first-party data with Google or any other advertiser. We do not provide them with user lists, calculator inputs, or anything else. The only information Google receives is whatever your browser sends to load an ad — same as it would for any other AdSense publisher.
Ad placement and policy
- Ad slots are placed only in natural positions (page sidebar, end of article, between major sections). They are never placed inside calculator input areas, above buttons, or in ways that could be mistaken for content or download links.
- We do not run pop-up ads, interstitials, or auto-playing video ads.
- We do not label sponsored content as editorial content. Where we recommend a specific product, we say so.
- We do not use deceptive ad designs that mimic system dialogs, error messages, or button styles.
4. Third-party cookies used on this site
If you see ads on this site, the following cookies may be set by Google (AdSense) and possibly by other third-party ad networks in the future:
_gcl_au,_gads,_gac_— Google conversion and ad measurement cookies.IDE,ANID,NID— Google advertising cookies used to serve and measure ads.- Various __Secure- prefixed Google cookies used by AdSense for fraud prevention and frequency capping.
We do not control how these third-party cookies are used. Google's own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Embedded content
We do not embed YouTube videos, social media widgets, Google Maps, or third-party fonts (with one exception — Font Awesome, served via CDN, which does not set tracking cookies). Pages load with only the Tailwind CSS and Font Awesome CDN scripts.
6. Children's privacy
This site is intended for adult hobbyists and professionals. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13, and our calculators are not designed for or marketed to children.
7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because we do not collect personal data and have no accounts, there is no user profile to access, correct, or delete. If you are in the EU/UK or California and have questions about how Google processes your data via AdSense, please refer to Google's privacy policy and your rights under those laws.
EU/UK visitors can manage cookie consent through Google's own controls. California residents can opt out of the "sale" of personal information via Google's Ads Settings — though we do not "sell" data in the traditional sense.
8. Do Not Track
Our hosting environment honors Do Not Track (DNT) signals where technically feasible. Because we do not run analytics, DNT primarily affects Google AdSense, which already operates under its own DNT policies.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes — for example, adding analytics or changing how ads are served — we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and add a banner notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.
